It all started using a child’s game that the inventor, Dr. James Naismith applied to play outdoors his schoolhouse when he was younger. This game was known as duck-on-a-rock, it aimed to knock the duck off the rock by tossing a different rock against it.
This then gave Dr. Naismith a concept of a game which he introduced for the students of YMCA Instruction School in 1891. Because of the cold climate, the trainees on the School for Christian Workers necessary a game that may be played indoors and one that would not use significantly strength.
